Gurkha

Named after one of the most beautiful districts in Nepal neighbouring the Himalayas and the Nepali soldiers who made history in the British Army, Gurkha Kitchen is a symbol of strength, solidarity and authentic Himalayan, Nepali and Tibetan food.

Adorned with traditional Nepali flags and bringing a colourful splash onto the high street, Gurkha is always a sight for sore eyes. Simply climb their rainbow-coloured steps and you have arrived, ready to get your feast on. Inside it's snug and intimate, offering a rather elevated dining experience with elegant bistro settings, delicate paper lanterns and a seductive colour scheme of deep reds and natural woods.

In true Nepali style, the menu is comprehensive and has something for everyone. Head straight for the Nepali food booth where you'll find Nepal's own dumplings, charmingly called mo mos. Steamed to perfection and served with sauces, these are the perfect after-work treat and are filled with your choice of chicken, tofu, lamb jhol and fried chicken. Why not order a refreshing Nepali soup to go alongside?

If it's pure authenticity you're after, you couldn't do better than their Nepali Bhojan (traditional plates) which feature goat, bamboo and chicken traditional plates. And if you're sidestepping meat altogether, there's a wealth of vegetarian curries waiting and ready for your verdict.
